My name is Laura — I am a follower of Christ, wife, and mama to two sweet and wonderfully crazy children.

Life for our family looks a little different these days. After moving away from my hometown so my husband could serve as a pastor, we settled into a little house on an acreage in the country that we’re slowly fixing up and making our home. It’s far from perfect, but it’s peaceful, beautiful, and a place we’re grateful for every day.

I’m passionate about creating a peaceful, healthy home for my family. Whether that means choosing more natural products and foods, growing things in the garden, or learning how to create a Christ-centered home that feels warm and welcoming on a budget, I love finding simple ways to make everyday life beautiful.

Most days, you can find me outside with my kids, working on a project around the house, digging in the garden, tending to our chickens — or our “NaNa’s,” as my toddler calls them — or spending time with my church family.

This blog is simply a place to share the things God is teaching me, the joys and challenges of motherhood, fun budget-friendly DIY projects, and the little moments that make a house feel like home. I also hope to share some of the other things I love — basketball, coaching, painting, sewing, and other little creative joys. My hope is that you’ll find encouragement, inspiration, and maybe a few practical ideas to help you embrace the beautiful life God has given you and create a haven for you and your family.

I’ve always been someone with a wide variety of interests and a love for trying new things. My goal with this blog is for you to find a little bit of everything that fills my heart and home — Biblical encouragement, motherhood, DIY projects, gardening, country living, a little bit of sports, and natural-minded living. More than anything, I hope to show how all of these things can work together to help create a haven for your family.
